Dates reflect permit effectiveness, not applications, approval rates or the stock of valid permits. IMP files cover a subset primarily working and do not represent all Canadian work permits. Individuals may hold multiple permit types; counts across programs, destinations and periods are not additive. Separate files cannot establish cross-tabulated populations. Counts are rounded to multiples of 5; -- means suppressed. Year-over-year changes for incomplete years and quarters are unavailable. PGWP locations are intended destinations, not actual residence or employment. Skill categories retain source labels and are not converted to TEER.
